Here goes the list of my all time favorite “comedy” titles in hindi. At present I have included only ten movies in this list. There are many more titles who deserve the list but can’t put all of them at once. Will try updating and adding more titles to the list in future. No ranking is given to any movie(as IMDb is there for it !),though I’ve tried to keep my favorites on top.

Story: Ramprasad is a recent college graduate who finds a job with a finicky man, Bhavani Shankar, who believes that a man without a mustache is a man without a character. Bhavani Shankar is also against any of his employees indulging in recreation of any kind. When Ramprasad is caught by his boss at a soccer match, he has to invent a twin brother, the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad, to save his job. When Bhavani’s daughter falls in love with the clean-shaven Laxman Prasad, and insists on marrying him, and Bhavani insists she should marry Ramprasad, things take a whacky turn. A fake mother and a hilarious chase are other enjoyable features involved in this comedy

Story:
Amar and Prem are two rivals who belonging to middle-class families with no scope of future advancement. Both individually, without the knowledge of the other decide to take matters into their hands and find ways to get rich quickly. Chaos and acrimony result when both find each other at loggerheads when both arrive to win the hand of the daughter of multi-millionaire Ram Gopal Bajaj amidst considerable upheavals when Shyam, the twin brother of Ram, decides to do away with Ram and assume his identity and thus take over the estate of the Bajaj family.

Story:
Ashok R. Tilak lives in Dinkapur with his widowed mother, and a servant named Bahadur. He travels to another town on a business trip to buy several acres of grape-bearing trees, with Bahadur accompanying him. Although this is his first trip to this town, however, everyone appears to know him and Bahadur, including the Ticket Checker at the Railway Station, the taxi-driver, the Hotel Manager, local Police Inspector Sinha, a Jeweler named Chhedilal and his assistant Mansoor, and to top it all a woman named Sudha claims that she is his wife, and another woman named Tanu claims that she is his sister-in-law, while a third one named Alka claims that she is his mistress. All’s not well for Bahadur either for he bears the brunt of this confusion when he finds out that he has a wife named Prema; a normally sane boss, who keeps on sniffing snuff and smoking alternatively, and who yells and slaps him frequently. After a nightmarish night, the hapless duo decide they have had enough and decide to return home, only to have the police arrest them for theft of a diamond necklace. Watch what happens when the truth is hilariously revealed at the Police Station of this town that has never these comedy of errors – ever.

Story:
Shyam comes to Mumbai to apply for a job. But there is another applicant for the same job – Anuradha Panikkar. Shyam decides to fight for his job and starts residing as a paying guest with Baburao Apte, a garage owner. Raju is Baburao’s other paying guest who disapproves of Shyam right from the start. These are four people in dire need of money and only a miracle can save the situation. The miracle occurs in the form of a wrong number phone call. Kabira, a goon, has kidnapped the granddaughter of Devi Prasad, a rich businessman and is calling on Baburao’s phone number by mistake and demanding ransom. Raju hatches a daring plan – to talk with Kabira posing as Devi Prasad, and to talk with Devi Prasad posing as Kabira, ask him for double the amount of ransom money which Kabira had originally demanded, save the girl and keep the money as a reward.

Story:
Charandas lives a poor lifestyle in a small town in India along with his older brother, Bhajandas, and Bhabhi. He is unemployed and commits himself to be a wrestler with Ustad Mastram Pahelwan, who gets him to promise to be celibate until he is 40 years of age. But when Charandas meets with a school student, Chameli, the daughter of a low-caste Coal merchant, both fall head-over-heels in love with each other, go on dates, exchange love letters, much to the chagrin of Chameli’s dad, Kallumal, who has plans to be the next Municipal Chairman, and mom, Champa, who decide to enlist the help of Champa’s brother, Chaganlal, as well as arrange Chameli’s marriage with Advocate Makhan, the son of Lachuram, who is of their caste. As events hilarious spiral out of control, Charandas must now decide whether he prefers to be known as the semi-senile lover, Majnu, or as Prithviraj Chauhan, who dared to abduct his future wife, amidst stiff all-round opposition.

Story:
Raghav brags that he can smell a rat or an impersonator automatically, and Dr. Parimal Tripathi decides to take him on – result: funny family slapstick comedy, with a dose of pure Hindi and Urdu thrown in, especially the dialogue delivery by Om Prakash, Dharmendra, and Amitabh Bachchan. Story:
Shyam and Makarand work as photographers in a commercial advertising agency. Both of them like to fool around with women, even though Makarand is engaged to be married to a doctor named Anjali. In order to outsmart each other, they two get into a competition of shooting a photograph, and Sam wins it, goes on a trip to the United States of America. Upon his return, he finds that Makarand is living a very enviable lifestyle with three of the most beautiful girls, who also work as air-hostesses. Sam meets them all, and finds out that the trio are unaware of each other, falls in love with Pooja; and begins several moves to upset Makarand lifestyle, and possibly get promoted as a Supervisor.

Story:
Squabbling Sharma family has a dubious reputation of not having any cook last there for more than a few months. Word spreads out about this family to such an extent that no person wants to be employed as a cook in this household, ironically named Shanti Nivas. Then one day a young man named Raghu offers to work as a cook, and he is hired. Raghu quickly gets a grip on his job and on each of the family members, and soon the squabbles and arguments come to an end. And then the Sharmas find the family jewels and Raghu missing.

Story:
Rosie Perreira is an overly anxious widow, living with her guitar-obsessed son, Sabhi, and a lovely daughter, Nancy, who she would like to get married to a wealthy young man. Her helpful neighbor, Tom, introduces a young eligible Tony Braganza to Nancy in the 9:10 AM Western Railway local train from Bandra to Churchgate. Tom also asks Nancy to introduce Tony to Rosie, which she does. Rosie is initially apprehensive about him as he only drawing a mere Rs.300/ compared to Nancy’s Rs.700/-, but soon changes her mind when she finds out that after his probationary period he will draw a monthly pay of Rs.1000/-. Nancy and Tom are permitted to meet and both eventually fall in love. While Nancy wants to follow her mother’s directions and get married, Tony is hesitant, and this is what costs him Nancy’s love, as she starts to feel that he will not come through with the marriage. And soon Rosie starts looking elsewhere for a son-in-law, while Tony is still reluctant to make any commitments.

Story:
Sameer is a hot-headed youngsters with a knack of getting into brawls. When his girlfriend dumps him, he is heartbroken and relocates to Goa to work as a lifeguard. He falls for his next-door neighbour Rani, but Rani dislikes him because Sameer had slapped her father by mistake. On top of it, Sameer’s new roommate Sunny is a lecherous playboy who has the hots for Rani. This results into a zany battle of wits between Sameer and Sunny over who will win Rani’s heart .
